DBS is a Proud "Adopt a Highway" Participant Since 2017
Lunch leftovers, cigarette butts, plastic bags, bottles, and car parts. Somehow all of these things end up on the DBS Adopt a Highway stretch. Our vision for “a world where everyone lives in a healthy, safe, and comfortable home” carries over into our outdoor spaces, too!
DBS has proudly participated in the MnDot Adopt a Highway program since 2017. Twice annually, our team hits the road and dons brightly colored vests for our roadside clean-up. The DBS Adopt a Highway section is on Snively Road in Duluth, MN. This busy street is dotted with family residences and hosts runners, bikers, and walkers, and lots of animal friends, too! But because it’s also a busy thoroughfare, litter finds its way to the roadside.
15 DBS humans and 1 canine came together for some bonding and community service for this spring's Earth Day clean-up. We used this time to show our respect for the green spaces in our community and neighbors.
Although more than 3,800 groups participate in this program annually, there are still 630 segments of roadways available for adoption. If you're interested in adopting a highway or rest area, visit www.dot.state.mn.us/adopt/ for more information about this incredible program.
