The yellow insulation in these rim joists looks effective, but it was letting air pass right through it. The new insulation helps create a better air seal on the home and has led to a noticeably more comfortable home.

This shifting garage floor had cracked and different parts of it had sunken to different levels and angles. This created issues for the homeowner who wished to move cars and other items across the floor without large bumps in the way. By using our concrete lifting and leveling system PolyLevel we were able to create level floors in this garage which could be driven on in less than 15 minutes after our crew was finished.

Cabin Foundation Stabilization in Ashland, WI

The new owners of this 150-year-old cabin in Ashland, WI were looking for a way to permanently lift and stabilize the cabin. Wanting the job down professionally, they reached out to DBS. Our Design Specialist, James Miller, visited the cabin and provided the owners with a free, no-obligation estimate. James recommended the installation of helical piers along the cabin's foundation to permanently lift and stabilize the cabin. DBS Foreman, Nate Simonson, and his crew mate, Adam Upton, then installed 20 helical piers around the cabin to lift and stabilize the cabin. These helical are driven into the ground using hydraulic pressure. Once the pier reaches solid, stable bedrock, the pressure pushes against the ground and causes the piers to stabilize the structure. The new cabin owners can now have a piece of mind knowing the cabin is permanently stabilized.

Cold and Drafty Home in Ashland, WI Insulated to Provide Year-Round Comfort

Owners of this recently purchased home in Ashland, WI knew they would need to eventually insulate it. After enduring one winter, they began looking for a solution for the uncomfortable conditions in their home. After learning about our company via their local newspaper, they called us to schedule a free, no-obligation estimate.

Our Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist Jacob Nustad-Peluso went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for this family. After inspecting the property and conducting an energy audit, it was determined that spray foam insulation at the rim joists in the basement, and blown-in insulation in the attic were necessary to effectively insulate the space.

Our production crew first removed the existing insulation in the attic. They then sealed the gaps in building material and spaces surrounding the attic ducts with a layer of closed-cell spray foam. Using SilverGlo™, a rigid foam insulation that is infused with graphite, our team constructed knee walls. This allows added protection to the roof deck from outside air. From there, they used our TruSoft™ cellulose to blow into the space. TruSoft™ has a higher R-value than fiberglass and other cellulose materials.

Sealing this attic will drastically reduce the rate of cold air entering the home and warm air escaping the home - in short - lower energy bills and more comfortable conditions.

Drain Tile Installation in Ashland, Wisconsin

Our entire waterproofing system includes CleanSpace matting along the walls, a drain tile under the floor, and one of our network's patented sump pumps. Each element of this system plays an important role and we encourage our customers to utilize our complete solutions, however, there are times when we are flexible with customers who wish to install a system in multiple different stages. By doing so we are able to reduce some of the stress that the customer is facing and start them in the right direction to fully waterproofing their basement. In this situation, the homeowner wished to install the whole system, but they were unable to do so at the time. By installing the first step of the system, the drain tile, in their basement we are able to reduce the problem that is immediately troubling them while we move the basement toward being completely waterproofed in the future. This drain tile along the footing of the basement helps direct water around the outside of the home into the drain tile itself where it flows into the existing sump pump. When we add on to this system in the future we will be installing our CleanSpace waterproofing membrane along the walls which directs water from the walls down into the drain tile. We would also recommend replacing the existing sump pump with our TripleSafe sump pump which has much better pumping capabilities and a built-in battery backup pump among other features.
