BASEMENT WATERPROOFING IN CONRATH, WI: SOLVING MOLD AND DAMPNESS FOR A DRY, USABLE SPACE
Before our recent basement transformation in Conrath, WI, the property suffered from severe dampness and a musty environment. Seeking to prevent progressive mold growth and prepare the space for future renters, the homeowner turned to DBS for an expert fix.
Check out these Before & After photos of our concrete living and leveling repair using PolyLevel.
Before diving into our recent basement transformation here in Conrath, WI, the problem was clear: a damp and musty basement, vulnerable to mold growth, which would certainly be a major deterrent for future renters. The homeowner was understandably concerned, as the space not only lacked functionality but posed potential health risks due to the moisture and mold issues. As you can see in the “before” photo, the basement was far from being an inviting or usable area, with signs of water damage and an overall feeling of neglect.
Recognizing the importance of resolving the issue and creating a space that could be both functional and appealing, we quickly stepped in with our expert solution. Our team worked diligently to design a comprehensive approach to tackle the moisture problem at its source. We installed the highly effective SaniDry™ Sedona dehumidifier to ensure optimal moisture control, preventing further mold growth and keeping the air quality in the basement clean and dry. In addition, the installation of CleanSpace® vapor barrier effectively sealed the walls, blocking moisture from entering and creating a dry, insulated environment. To address water intrusion, we incorporated the WaterGuard® drainage system along the perimeter, allowing any water that did seep in to be efficiently redirected to the SingleSafe™ Sump Pump, which safely pumps the water out of the basement and away from the foundation.
The result is clear in the “after” photo: a completely transformed basement that is now dry, inviting, and ready for use. No longer an area filled with potential hazards, this space is now a dry, functional part of the home. The homeowner can rest easy knowing that they have a durable, long-lasting solution that will protect the basement for years to come. This renovation is another testament to our commitment to providing remarkably sound, lasting solutions that improve both the safety and functionality of homes, ensuring that they are ready for whatever comes next—whether it’s new tenants or a fresh chapter in the homeowner’s life.

Why Basements Flood: More Entry Points Than You Think
Basement water problems don’t come from one place, they come from everywhere at once. Across Duluth, St. Cloud, Brainerd, Baxter, Elk River, Big Lake, Sauk Rapids and nearby St. Louis, Stearns, Sherburne, Benton, Crow Wing and Cass counties, heavy snowmelt, freeze-thaw cycles, clay soils and seasonal high water tables can put basements under pressure from multiple directions.

⚠️ DBS Repair Warning: Even the smallest wall or floor crack is an open door for groundwater. Foundations that have settled or shifted are more likely to develop water intrusion because the two problems often travel together.

Floor Cracks, Window Leaks and Hatchway Failures:
The Entry Points Most Homeowners Miss
The most dangerous basement leaks aren’t always the most dramatic. Slow, chronic seepage through floor cracks and window frames causes just as much long-term damage as a sudden flood, and it’s easier to ignore until it’s too late.

The Hidden Consequence of a Chronically Wet Basement
Standing water is an emergency. But chronic moisture, the kind that never fully dries out between rain events, is a slow-moving disaster that most homeowners don’t catch until the damage is severe.
