CONCRETE RESURFACING
DURASTONE CONCRETE OVERLAY FOR MINNESOTA CONCRETE
Cracked, pitted, flaking, or aging concrete does not always need to be torn out and replaced. DuraStone™ gives homeowners a durable resin-bound natural stone surface that restores existing concrete while creating a clean, high-end finish designed for demanding Midwest conditions.
SURFACE
Natural Stone Finish
Natural stone aggregates are combined with premium resin to create a seamless decorative surface over existing concrete.
PERFORMANCE
Permeable & Slip Resistant
The open structure allows water to drain through instead of collecting on top, helping create a practical surface for wet and snowy climates.
PROTECTION
5-Year Warranty
DBS backs professionally installed DuraStone concrete overlay systems with a five-year warranty.
RESTORE INSTEAD OF REPLACE
What Is a DuraStone Concrete Overlay?
DuraStone concrete overlay is a resin-bound resurfacing system designed to restore concrete that has become cracked, pitted, flaking, stained, or visually worn without automatically resorting to complete demolition and replacement.
DuraStone combines natural stone aggregates with high-quality resin that bonds to properly prepared existing concrete. The result is a seamless decorative surface that upgrades both the appearance and functionality of the slab.
Homeowners considering concrete resurfacing can learn more about the complete system on DBS Repair’s DuraStone concrete overlay service page.

BUILT FOR REAL-LIFE CONCRETE
Where Can DuraStone Be Installed?
Driveways
Refresh worn driveway concrete with a decorative surface while preserving the existing slab whenever conditions allow.
Garage Floors
Create a finished, durable garage surface that is easier on the eyes than deteriorated or heavily weathered concrete.
Patios & Pool Areas
The permeable and slip-resistant characteristics make DuraStone particularly useful around outdoor spaces exposed to water.
Walkways & Stairs
Resurface entrances, sidewalks, steps, decks, and other high-visibility concrete areas around the property.
DESIGNED FOR MIDWEST WEATHER
Why Permeable Concrete Resurfacing Matters
One of the most distinctive characteristics of DuraStone is its permeability. Instead of sealing the surface so rain or melting snow remains on top, its resin-bound structure allows water to drain through the finished surface.
That drainage contributes to DuraStone’s slip-resistant characteristics and makes the system especially appealing for driveways, walkways, pool decks, patios, and other surfaces that regularly encounter rain, snow, and moisture.
The system is also UV stable and designed to resist stains and chemicals, giving homeowners an alternative to conventional coatings that may discolor or deteriorate after prolonged exposure.

FROM INSPECTION TO FINISH
How DuraStone Concrete Overlay Is Installed
STEP 01
Inspect the Existing Slab
DBS first evaluates the condition of the concrete to determine whether settlement, cracks, joint deterioration, or other problems need to be corrected before resurfacing.
STEP 02
Repair the Base
When concrete has settled or developed vulnerable cracks and joints, DBS may incorporate PolyLevel® concrete lifting and NexusPro® joint sealing before the overlay is applied.
STEP 03
Prepare & Resurface
The surface is cleaned and prepared for adhesion before the selected DuraStone natural stone and resin blend is applied and finished across the concrete.
STEP 04
Allow the Surface to Cure
DuraStone typically cures within approximately 24 to 72 hours depending on temperature and project conditions.
STEP 05
Final Walkthrough
Once curing is complete, the finished surface is reviewed and the homeowner receives the applicable five-year DuraStone warranty.
A COMPLETE CONCRETE REPAIR APPROACH
DuraStone Works Best on a Sound Concrete Base
DuraStone improves the finished surface, but successful concrete resurfacing begins below that finish. If a driveway, garage floor, sidewalk, or patio has settled because of unstable soil or lost support, simply covering the slab does not correct the source of movement.
That is why DBS evaluates the concrete before installation. When necessary, the existing slab can first be stabilized and lifted as part of a broader concrete repair system.
Once underlying problems are addressed and the slab is properly prepared, DuraStone creates the finished layer that restores appearance, protects the surface, and gives the concrete a distinctive natural stone look.
DuraStone May Be a Good Fit If Your Concrete Is:
• Pitted or flaking at the surface
• Visually worn or discolored
• Cracked but still repairable
• In need of an updated appearance
• Exposed to rain, snow, or frequent moisture
• A candidate for resurfacing instead of full replacement

RESTORE YOUR EXISTING CONCRETE
Is DuraStone Right for Your Driveway, Garage, or Patio?
The condition of every concrete slab is different. Before deciding between resurfacing, repair, or replacement, the most important step is determining why the concrete is deteriorating and whether the existing slab provides a suitable base.
DBS Repair installs DuraStone concrete overlays throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin, including the Minneapolis, Duluth, Superior, and surrounding service areas. A professional inspection can determine whether DuraStone alone is appropriate or whether other repairs should be completed first.
