In River Falls, WI, a homeowner was experiencing some issues with the block foundation wall of their basement. The settling foundation was causing the wall to start to bow inward, which was concerning for the homeowner. In need of a solution, they contacted DBS to have a Design Specialist visit and give them a free, no-obligation estimate for the foundation repair. 

After the consultation, it was determined that the homeowner would need to have a set of GeoLock® Wall Anchors installed along the wall to ensure the proper stabilization. GeoLock® is a unique system and one that requires a little bit of both interior and exterior foundation work. The GeoLock® Wall Anchor System is comprised of galvanized steel anchors that are ideal in supporting failing foundation walls. Our crew worked to excavate along the exterior portion of the wall, and place the steel anchor plates below the surface of the ground. Then, another anchor plate is installed along the interior portion of the wall, and the two plates are connected through a steel rod traveling below the surface. Once tightened, the backfill creates a pulling force from within the anchor system, and this helps to stabilize (and potentially straighten) the foundation wall. The interior portion of the foundation wall with GeoLock® can be seen in the photo attached. As mentioned earlier, this system is a proven permanent solution to fix bowing foundation walls. The project turned out great, and the homeowner can now feel more comfortable with their basement’s structure.
