Perfect weather, plenty of helping hands, and the promise of pizza made for a successful Adopt-a-Highway cleanup in Duluth!
On Monday, September 21, 2026, 12 members of the DBS Repair team stepped away from their usual work to participate in our twice-annual Adopt-a-Highway cleanup. Wearing safety vests and armed with gloves and garbage bags, the group set out to make our little corner of Duluth cleaner and more welcoming.
Cleaning Two Miles of Snively Road
DBS Repair is responsible for the two-mile section of Snively Road between Woodland Avenue and the roundabout at Glenwood Street.
Our team divided and conquered in small groups to tackle different sections of the roadway. Thanks to a little teamwork and a steady pace, the entire two-mile stretch was cleaned in just under an hour.
By the time the work was complete, the team had collected four bags of garbage. The most common finds included vape pens, cigarette butts, fast-food bags, and food wrappers. It was not exactly a treasure hunt, but every item removed helped make the roadside a little cleaner.
Northern Minnesota weather does not always cooperate with outdoor plans, but it certainly showed up for our team this time. Temperatures stayed in the low 60s, with partly cloudy skies and a gentle breeze.
Once the last bag was collected and the team’s section of Snively Road was looking noticeably cleaner, everyone headed back to the DBS Repair shop in Duluth to refuel with Domino’s pizza, garlic knots, and brownies.
Teamwork Reaches Beyond the Jobsite
At DBS Repair, teamwork is not limited to the office or the homes we serve. It also means showing up for our community and taking responsibility for the places we share.
Our Adopt-a-Highway cleanup may be a small act, but small actions add up. Every bag of litter removed helps create a cleaner roadside for the people who live, work, walk, bike, and drive through the area.
We appreciate the team members who took time out of a busy Monday to help. Their positive attitudes and willingness to work together made it possible to clean the entire stretch in less than an hour.
