This customer, motivated by health concerns and a desire to enhance indoor air quality, sought a solution to the recurrent issue of water entering the crawlspace. They also aimed to improve the overall condition of their property for potential future resale.
The primary goals were to achieve a dry crawlspace and enhance indoor air quality for the customer. Addressing these concerns involved strategic planning and collaboration with the customer's landscaper, who would be responsible for installing a buried discharge line connected to the yard watering system. Several factors influenced our approach to the project. The high water table required a meticulous installation of a buried discharge line, and the existing concrete floor, rough in texture, presented challenges for installation. The exposed footings and spray-foamed walls added complexity, necessitating the placement of SEALED Triplesafe liners. Access to the crawlspace was limited to a 3'8'' height, with shallow areas due to ductwork.
The customer's landscaper played a role in the installation, preparing for a buried discharge line. Our team removed the existing green grate and installed Iceguards with a Y-connection to the 4'' discharge line. Notably, we decided not to replace the concrete, opting to leave the trench open to allow water to find its way when it pushes through concrete cracks. Rocks were strategically placed up to the existing cement. Due to the presence of an existing yard drain, we omitted the installation of Iceguards.
We were thrilled by the successful outcome of this job. We maintained open communication with the customer, making decisions collaboratively, such as leaving the trench open for optimal water flow. The team demonstrated competence, energy, and effective leadership, earning commendation from the customer, who praised Shane as a competent, energetic, and excellent communicator, highlighting his leadership qualities. The overall interactions with DBS were described as fantastic, emphasizing the company's dedication to its purpose and values, which positively impacted the customer experience. The customer concluded with high regard, stating, "I can't say enough about DBS."
