The yellow insulation in these rim joists looks effective, but it was letting air pass right through it. The new insulation helps create a better air seal on the home and has led to a noticeably more comfortable home.

This shifting garage floor had cracked and different parts of it had sunken to different levels and angles. This created issues for the homeowner who wished to move cars and other items across the floor without large bumps in the way. By using our concrete lifting and leveling system PolyLevel we were able to create level floors in this garage which could be driven on in less than 15 minutes after our crew was finished.

Job Stories From Ashland, WI
Cold and Drafty Home in Ashland, WI Insulated to Provide Year-Round Comfort

Owners of this recently purchased home in Ashland, WI knew they would need to eventually insulate it. After enduring one winter, they began looking for a solution for the uncomfortable conditions in their home. After learning about our company via their local newspaper, they called us to schedule a free, no-obligation estimate.

Our Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist Jacob Nustad-Peluso went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for this family. After inspecting the property and conducting an energy audit, it was determined that spray foam insulation at the rim joists in the basement, and blown-in insulation in the attic were necessary to effectively insulate the space.

Our production crew first removed the existing insulation in the attic. They then sealed the gaps in building material and spaces surrounding the attic ducts with a layer of closed-cell spray foam. Using SilverGlo™, a rigid foam insulation that is infused with graphite, our team constructed knee walls. This allows added protection to the roof deck from outside air. From there, they used our TruSoft™ cellulose to blow into the space. TruSoft™ has a higher R-value than fiberglass and other cellulose materials.

Sealing this attic will drastically reduce the rate of cold air entering the home and warm air escaping the home - in short - lower energy bills and more comfortable conditions.

Home Built During The 1800's Permanently Stabilized In Ashland, Wisconsin

These homeowners in Ashland, Wisconsin reached out to DBS for help keeping their 1800's built home healthy, safe, and comfortable. Their crawl space was problematic with cracked and bowing walls.

DBS Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. This crawl space needed to have the exposed earth flooring leveled so PowerBrace™ wall support beams can be installed and permanently stabilize this failing foundation. This home was repaired by DBS Foreman Tony Leske and his production crew.

This home is now healthy, safe, and comfortable!

Dirt Crawl Space in Ashland, WI Now Sealed

A DBS Design Specialist visited the home for a free inspection and no-obligation estimate for the work. To combat this problem, encapsulating the space entirely was the best option.

CleanSpace® drainage matting, and a protective vapor barrier were laid down to seal the dirt floor. TerraBlock™ and closed-cell spray foam insulation were used to help regulate temperature in the space, which will in turn make the home more energy-efficient.

The homeowner was pleased with the done work and now has a more safe and comfortable home to enjoy!

Wall Support for Failing Foundation in Ashland, WI

Homeowners in Ashland, WI were experiencing significant wall failure in their home's basement. After learning about DBS on local radio, they reached out to us for a permanent solution.

DBS Director of Sales Royce Bunn visited the home for a free, no-obligation estimate and provided a solution to save the home's foundation. First, Royce recommended 7 GeoLock® Wall Anchor System to correct the cracked and bowing walls. GeoLock® Wall Anchors stabilize foundation walls by connecting two steel plates together with a galvanized steel rod. The rods are tightened over time, pulling walls back into their original position.

DBS Foreman Casey Healy and his production crew installed the GeoLock® Wall Anchor System as well as 17 PowerBrace™ support beams in total.

These basement walls are no longer in danger of collapsing and this home once again has a safe and stable foundation.

Wall Stabilization in Ashland, WI

After searching for the best company to solve these problems, this homeowner contacted DBS. Following a brief phone call with the DSB office staff, an appointment was made to have System Design Specialist, Royce Bunn make a trip out to the home for a free no obligation estimate. After a thorough inspection, Royce provided the homeowner the best possible solution for her basement. Royce explained that installing Geo Locks would aid the stabilization of the wall in highest concern and power braces along with joint reinforcements would secure the rest. Drain Tile Installation in Ashland, Wisconsin

Our entire waterproofing system includes CleanSpace matting along the walls, a drain tile under the floor, and one of our network's patented sump pumps. Each element of this system plays an important role and we encourage our customers to utilize our complete solutions, however, there are times when we are flexible with customers who wish to install a system in multiple different stages. By doing so we are able to reduce some of the stress that the customer is facing and start them in the right direction to fully waterproofing their basement. In this situation, the homeowner wished to install the whole system, but they were unable to do so at the time. By installing the first step of the system, the drain tile, in their basement we are able to reduce the problem that is immediately troubling them while we move the basement toward being completely waterproofed in the future. This drain tile along the footing of the basement helps direct water around the outside of the home into the drain tile itself where it flows into the existing sump pump. When we add on to this system in the future we will be installing our CleanSpace waterproofing membrane along the walls which directs water from the walls down into the drain tile. We would also recommend replacing the existing sump pump with our TripleSafe sump pump which has much better pumping capabilities and a built-in battery backup pump among other features.
