A homeowner reached out to DBS regarding a commonly noticed issue. The deck of their house has a concrete retaining wall beneath it that was starting to crack and shift slightly. This was alarming because it would not have been ideal for this wall to experience any further issues and end up damaging parts of the home or deck. The homeowner was eager to find a solution. DBS sent out a Design Specialist to take a look and provide a free, no-obligation estimate for the project. It was decided that the retaining wall would need Geolock® Wall Anchors installed to help stabilize the wall from any further movements. GeoLock® is a specially designed galvanized steel anchor which is embedded below surface in undisturbed soil. From their, it is attached to a seperate anchor on the interior portion of the wall by a steel rod. The attachment of the anchors, once filled in, will permanently stabilize the wall in hopes of preventing any extended issues. Both of these products work to stabilize a poorly supported wall structure, and can even work to help shift the wall back to the original position if bowing had occurred.
