Our metro team completed this challenging but successful residential foundation repair project in Eden Prairie. During the sales process, the customer expressed concern about potential damage to his existing rock retaining wall, particularly on the North side where equipment needed entry. Despite these challenges, our crew managed to carefully navigate the mini excavator to the bottom of the retaining wall.
The main focus was on addressing non-functional windows due to foundation settlement and achieving lift and level procedures. Unfortunately, due to the window issues, achieving a completely level floor proved challenging. However, in collaboration with the customer, a satisfactory compromise was reached – the windows were made functional, and the back corner of the floor was deliberately set 1/4” lower than the rest.
The customer responded was happy with the outcome and responded to a post project survey saying: "Excellent communication, quality work, very satisfied with everything." Special acknowledgment was given to Tate and Brice for their patience, politeness, and skill. Working with Jason was described as a pleasant experience, commending his prompt responsiveness and thorough explanations of all job aspects. The customer found the pricing fair and reasonable, expressing a high likelihood of recommending DBS to friends or neighbors.
Our team tackled a challenging project at the old school center, where the floor was experiencing frost heaving and settling issues during the summer. The hardwood floor failed to realign, leaving it uneven and in need of a solution. With only 4" - 1 foot of crawlspace room to work with, the customer opted to remove the center of the floor for the installation of a Smart Jack system with CIPs and frost protection.
The joists, which were originally resting on rocks, required a strategic approach. We successfully installed beams and performed necessary sistering to provide the needed support. Despite the tight space constraints and the intricate nature of the job, our team delivered exceptional results, achieving a significant lift. The customer expressed satisfaction with the outcome.
In the words of the customer in their review: "We were kept informed of the work being done; the process and expectations. Tate was friendly, a good communicator, efficient, and completed the job. The crew cleaned up when done and were respectful of our 130-year-old school... We were very satisfied with the work and would recommend your company and those working on the school. They were a good crew of men and worked well together."
This customer reached out to DBS after noticing cracks in their basement walls and on the outside of the house. With the intention of potentially renting out or selling their property, they wanted to make sure their basement was safe and wasn't going to cause any further issues in the future.
When our Design Specialist, Nicholas Corbin, went out to the property, he inspected the cracks and was able to relate them to a foundation issue. The foundation was settling and the house needed to be supported through the installation of interior piers and lifts.
Once our production crew was able to get out to the residents property, they were able to install our 3" Push Piers that have a low profile bracket underneath the foundation and lift it back into place. Once the products were installed, the homeowner was happy with the results and could be more comfortable renovating the basement for the future of the house.
This customer reached out to DBS after an energy audit identified two specific issues in their townhouse. The first issue was that the lower wall in the kitchen, under a bay window, is drafty which prompted the need for inner wall insulation. The basement housed the second issue where there was mold on the insulation near the ceiling, and the customer wanted this addressed urgently.
Once our Design Specialist was able to get out to the property and conduct a thorough inspection, they recommended a plan to remove the current fiberglass insulation and use our spray foam on the rim joists. Since there was mold in the rim joists, our production crew would have to spray around 102 square feet of Mold-X around the rim joist and subfloor in the utility room. Additionally, there would need to be a dense pack of insulation for the wall underneath the bay window in the kitchen.
Once our production crew was able to get to the property, they evacuated the homeowner out of the property and sprayed the Mold X and installed the proper insulation. Once the project was complete, the customer was very happy with the results and communication provided by both the Design Specialist and production crew.
This homeowner reached out to DBS after experiencing consistently cold floors that were above their crawlspace during the winter months. They resorted to placing blankets on the floor to manage the cold draft. This issue became more pronounced after their second kitchen floor remodel, which led her to suspect that the age of the house might be a contributing factor. Additionally, the presence of mice in the crawlspace heightened her concerns, prompting her to seek a solution for a more healthy, safe and comfortable home. When our Design Specialist, Justin Mundahl, went out to the property he decided to take a look at the crawlspace that was located under the kitchen floor and noticed that the crawlspace was cold and not regulated well. His proposed solution included a 0.5" rim joist spray insulation, a SmartDrain, and then finalizing the project with the installation of a TerraBlock™, CleanSpace®, and spray foaming the rim joist. Once our crew was able to get out to the property and install the waterproofing system and spray the rim joist for insulation, the homeowner was happy with the result and was looking forward to a more comfortable kitchen floor!
This homeowner reached out to DBS after seeking assistance for their rental property, an old 1900 home with an untouched crawlspace. The need for action arose when a flooring replacement project revealed high humidity in the crawlspace, prompting concern about potential damage. Currently undergoing renovations before being rented out again, the customer aims to safeguard their investment and eventually sell the property.
When our Design Specialist went out to the property and looked at the property, they recommended a spray foam insulation to help seal and regulate the temperature and install our CleanSpaces® protector and wrapping it around the piers, installing a SmartDrain for drainage. The regrade is considered crucial to ease the project, given the soft soil and minor debris. Once our crew was able to get out to the property, the crawlspace was effectively sealed off, and the homeowner was happy with the results!
A homeowner contacted DBS for help with their foundation, which had developed cracks. The wooden posts supporting the porch and living room had sunk into the ground, causing instability. To address the issue, our design specialist proposed installing piers under the posts to provide additional support.
Our team arrived on site and installed three helical cabin piers, which successfully reinforced the beams. The homeowner was pleased with the results!
This homeowner contacted DBS after enduring a daily routine to bring their space heater upstairs just so they could warm the upstairs addition. They wanted proper insulation to alleviate this issue and finally have a warmer upstairs level.
Our Design Specialist visited the property and recommended a solution that involves a full installation of the attic.
When Kornell Green, our Foreman, and the crew went to the property, they installed 5 XL can light covers, air sealed and insulated the access points, baffles, and floors using our spray foam insulation. Once the spray foam insulation was complete, Kornell and the team secured the installation further by using our TruSoft Cellulose. Once the project was complete, the homeowner was very happy with the final result!
This customer reached out to DBS interested in our Total Basement Finishing services to remodel their laundry area and add a small bathroom to the space. Their basement was unfinished and needed a much-needed upgrade. When our Design Specialist went out to the property, he helped the homeowners construct the basement of their dreams.
Now, they have a new, finished basement for everyone to enjoy!
We recently tackled a series of insulation challenges at a customer's home, focusing on the kitchen's cold cantilever, a chilly room bordering the attic, and overall attic insulation. Here's a breakdown of what we did:
Our foreman led the charge, going beyond by removing drywall for thorough insulation and upgrading the kneewall with extra spray foam. The interior pocket was expertly handled with spray foam and dense packing, resulting in a job well done as per plan.
Our customer, impressed by Cody's work, described him as hard-working, intelligent, and considerate. We recently had the pleasure of working on a rewarding concrete repair job in Osseo, MN. This homeowner reached out to DBS after noting how their sidewalk had significantly sunk – about 2" on average with a spot sinking a little over 3". Our approach to solving this homeowner’s problem began with a free, no-obligation, estimate. Our Design Specialist, Brian Baker, paid a visit to the property to understand the homeowner’s concerns and assess the situation firsthand. After a thorough inspection, he recommended a combination of PolyLevel®, an innovative foam injection for lifting and leveling concrete, and NexusPro®, a solution for sealing joints and cracks. Our Foreman, Nate, and Co-Foreman, Weston, lifted and leveled the front sidewalk and steps, addressing the uneven surfaces that posed trip hazards. Following the lifting, all joints and cracks were sealed with our NexusPro®, preventing future water damage and soil erosion underneath the concrete. After our work was done, the outcome was visibly uplifting. Not only was the uneven sidewalk leveled out, but the homeowner was thrilled with the revitalized appearance and structural integrity of their sidewalk.
