Ironton, MN Home Attic Properly Insulated with Dr. Energy Saver®
Homeowners in Ironton were having issues with keeping their home at a comfortable temperature in the winter. Knowing that the poor attic insulation was likely to blame, the owners contacted for a permanent solution.
DBS Sales Manager Royce Bunn visited the home for a free, no-obligation estimate and completed a thorough inspection of the attic space. You can see in the photo that the existing insulation had shifted and was completely dislodged in some places. Because the warm air from the lower levels of the home was meeting cold temperatures in the attic, condensation was forming and causing mold to grow.
DBS Foreman Orrin Sundberg and his production crew first removed the exsiting insulation and applied Mold-X2™ Botanical to treat and clear the mold issue. The crew then sealed the gaps in building material and spaces surrounding the attic ducts with ZypFoam™. They then blew in Tru-Soft™ cellulose insulation to a height of 17 inches.
Sealing the attic was key to prevent warm air from escaping the home, and improving the overall energy health of the space.
