A cabin owner in Minong, WI wanted to transform this space into their permanent residence. With a dirt crawl space and very little insulation, they wanted to ensure comfortable temperatures in the cabin and eliminate the possibility of pipes freezing and bursting during winter months. They reached out to DBS about our crawl space encapsulation service.

Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo is an expert in energy-saving solutions and visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate. Foreman Taylor Allen and his production crew installed a CleanSpace® vapor barrier on top of foam insulation over the dirt crawl space floor. Our ultra-dense TerraBlock™ foam insulation, as well as closed-cell spray foam, were applied to fully seal and regulate temperature in the space. These products work together to keep, cold air, moisture, and pests at bay.

The homeowner was happy with the work done, and now has a solid solution to protect their cabin against low winter time temperatures.

The new owners of this cabin discovered that there was little to no insulation in many areas of the structure. They intend on using the cabin year-round and with the cool midwest climate of Gordon, WI they knew they needed to find a solution. They called DBS for a free estimate.

Design Specialist Austin Burley ran the no-obligation estimate for the owners. Upon completion of a thorough interview, Austin informed the owners about the insulation services that DBS could install to fix their issues.

Foreman Nick Woods II led the installation of this project. With assistance from a crew, they installed Tru-Soft™ cellulose insulation in the attic and in another area of a house with a cathedral-style ceiling. They sealed the basement ceiling with polyurethane spray foam to properly air-seal the space. The crew also applied spray foam to the attic before blowing in Tru-Soft™. The crawl space underneath the cabin will also be properly insulated in the future with our 3-layer crawl space encapsulation process.

Now that the home has been properly insulated, the owners will be able to enjoy their new cabin year-round and begin renovating the inside to create an even comfier space for their family.

The owners of this home in Minong, WI reached out to DBS looking for a solution to their nasty crawl space problem.

Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo went to the home to conduct a free no-obligation estimate for the homeowner. After a thorough inspection, Henrik recommended our Crawl Space Encapsulation service.

A DBS Foreman led the installation of this project with assistance from a crew. Together they installed drainage matting on the ground of the crawl space to help with water flow beneath the other layers. Next, the crew installed TerraBlock® insulation panels to protect the space against frost and also installed a layer of CleanSpace® water vapor barrier to finish the project. Polyurethane spray foam was also installed on the vertical walls of the crawl space to provide more insulation.

Now that the crawl space has been encapsulated with our 3-layer process, the homeowner can relax much more comfortably in their home.

Foundation and Concrete Repair in Minong, WI

A homeowner in Minong, WI was experiencing issues with their concrete garage slab, as well as issues with a separate slab behind their garage. The main garage slab was beginning to settle, and the homeowner wanted to add support for it. The separate slab behind the garage had sunk and needed to be lifted and leveled out properly to fill a void that was created. In need of some solutions, they reached out to DBS and had a Design Specialist come take a look. After a thorough inspection and free, no-obligation estimate, it was determined that the garage slab would need to have several slab piers installed to add support for the structure. The separate concrete outside of the garage would need to be lifted using PolyLevel®. PolyLevel® is a foam product that is injected below a concrete slab. Once injected, the foam expands instantly and causes the concrete to rise up and level out. It is a truly fast and easy solution for repairing concrete. Overall, the results of the project turned out great, and the homeowner can now feel more comfortable knowing their garage structure is well supported and concrete is in good form.
