This 1930's home in Stone Lake, WI had issues with shifting blocks in the foundation wall. Over the past 10 years, the homeowner noticed the problem worsening. Wanting to protect the investment in their home, they contacted us for a free, no-obligation estimate for the foundation work.

DBS Design Specialist James Miller visited the home and performed a thorough diagnosis, assessing the basement wall cracking. His action plan for the block walls in the basement was to install our PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System.

DBS Foreman Joe Harris installed 6 PowerBrace™ I-beams. Our team anchored the beams to the basement concrete, as well as to the rim joists in the ceiling. These beams will be tightened overtime to restore the wall's original position.

The homeowners were happy with the work done and can now count on a safe and supported basement.

Stone Lake, WI Home Re-Insulates Attic to Improve Year-Round Comfort Stone Lake, WI Home Re-Insulates Attic to Improve Year-Round Comfort

This Stone Lake, WI home was built in 1997. First used as a lake home, this family transitioned to living there year-round. The wintertime made their upper levels cold and drafty, and caused certain rooms to heat up in the summertime as well. Looking for a permanent solution to make their home more comfortable year-round, they reached out to DBS for a permanent solution.

Henry Jungbauer is our Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist and went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate. After inspecting the property and conducting an energy audit, it was determined that air sealing and blown-in insulation were necessary to effectively seal and insulate the space.

Our production crew first removed the existing fiberglass insulation and sealed the gaps in building material and spaces surrounding the attic ducts with a layer of closed-cell spray foam. From there, they blew-in a heavy layer of our TruSoft™ cellulose into the space. TruSoft™ has a higher R-value than fiberglass and other cellulose materials and will work wonders to protect the space.

Sealing the attic was key to prevent warm air from escaping the home, and improves the overall energy-efficiency and health of the space.

Job Stories From Stone Lake, WI
Concrete Lifting, Leveling, and Sealing in Stone Lake, WI

In Stone Lake, WI, a homeowner was experiencing some issues with their concrete patio slab. The concrete was starting to crack in several spots, and the slabs were also sinking and moving from their original position. These movements were creating an uneven surface all across the patio. which can be hazardous for those who occupy the space. This was alarming for the homeowner, which is why they reached out to DBS for some assistance. Fortunately, a Design Specialist was able to go out to the home and provide a free, no-obligation estimate for the concrete repair service. After thorough inspection, it was determined that the concrete area would need to have PolyLevel® installed, as well as NexusPro™. PolyLevel® is a foam injection that is embedded below a sunken concrete slab, and expands soon after injection to help lift and level the slab. NexusPro™ is a silicone sealant that is used along any cracks within the concrete to seal it off from invasive materials. The combination of these products are optimal in improving the condition of concrete surfaces. The results of this project turned out great, and the homeowner can now feel more comfortable with their concrete patio.

Insulating a home in Stone Lake, WI

A homeowner in Stone Lake, MN, wanted a comfortably heated home. During the winter months when the temperature would drop below zero, the house took a lot of energy to maintain a comfortable temperature. After learning about DBS and their vision of a world where every family lives in a safe and comfortable home, she decided to ask for help. Reaching out to DBS, she called and spoke with Office Manager, Kelsey Anderson, who set up an appointment for a free, no-obligation estimate. Home Comfort Specialist Steve Stern made a trip out to the home. He spoke with the homeowner about her concerns, goals, and thoroughly assessed the home. Steve was able to explain to her the best possible solution for her home energy problems. In the basement where cool air comes from the ground, he suggested all the rim joists be professionally sealed. The door leading outside from the basement needed to be insulated with spray foam. Up in the attic where the heat was slipping through the roof, there was evidence of rodents in the poor quality insulation. A replacement of the old insulation with high-quality TruSoft™ cellulose insulation would rid the homeowner of the rodents and provide a sufficient insulation barrier. Not only is TruSoft™ cellulose highly energy efficient, but it is made of materials that aren’t compatible with these furry critters. With this great solution, Steve addressed all of the homeowner's needs to help achieve her goals. Following a signed proposal, a date was set to have Foreman, Drew Sundberg and his crew complete the installation. With this high-quality solution in place, the homeowner was able to achieve the comfort that everyone deserves.
