Sonia Peterson joined the DBS family in 2023 as the Duluth Recruiter and operates the HR department for both company locations. With a rich background in recruiting and a passion for people, Sonia is known for building strong relationships, thinking ahead, and partnering closely with hiring managers to find the right fit—while also showing empathy and respect for every candidate she meets.

Sonia brings a thoughtful, people-first approach to her work and thrives on helping others succeed. She believes that being a great recruiter means wearing many hats, staying curious, and always representing the company with integrity. Whether she’s fine-tuning a hiring process, onboarding a new employee, or supporting her team, Sonia enjoys digging in to truly understand what each department needs to thrive. She’s also committed to staying current on industry trends and is a regular face at HR and recruiting seminars.

Outside the office, Sonia loves spending time with her husband, adult children, daughter-in-law, and her growing crew of adorable grandchildren. A passionate traveler, she finds joy in Disney adventures, Caribbean cruises, and exploring new destinations. If she could have dinner with any historical figure, it would be Walt Disney—because his dream of creating “the most magical place on Earth” left a lasting impact on her as a child and continues to inspire her today.
