Foundation Repair Case Studies: Different Wall Crack Patterns in Superior, WI

Challenge

One of our Design Specialists went out to the project in Superior, WI after the owner of the home reached out to us with concerns regarding foundation failure. Once the Design Specialist arrived at the home, they conducted a free no-obligation estimate for the homeowner. They discovered stair-step patterned cracks in the basement walls and long horizontal cracks as well, indications of foundation failure.

Solution

The Design Specialist recommended our PowerBrace® System to help permanently stabilize the foundation. The PowerBrace® i-beams are secured to the rim joists of the home with brackets that can be tightened during dry periods in an attempt to straighten the wall back to its original position.

Here are examples of the cracks found within the basement walls of this project. Stair-step cracks and long horizontal cracks are something that our Design Specialists look for when diagnosing stages of foundation failure.
