Foundation Repair Photo Album: Comprehensive garage foundation stabilization and basement waterproofing in Sturgeon Lake, MN using Helical Piers, GeoLock®, DoubleSafe, and PowerBrace®
In Sturgeon Lake, MN, this homeowner needed major structural and waterproofing improvements to protect their property. The garage had begun to settle significantly, causing the exterior wall to lean and the interior slab to sink. At the same time, the connected basement showed signs of moisture intrusion and foundation wall stress.
To restore long-term stability and safety, our DBS Repair team installed a series of Helical Piers along the garage foundation and GeoLock® Wall Anchors to straighten and secure the failing wall. Inside the garage, sections of the slab were opened so interior pier brackets could be installed before re-pouring concrete for a stronger, more level surface.
In the basement, we addressed water concerns with our DoubleSafe waterproofing system, which includes a high-capacity sump pump setup engineered for year-round performance. For structural reinforcement of the bowing block walls, we installed the PowerBrace® Wall Support System, providing immediate stabilization and the potential for incremental adjustment over time.
With both the garage foundation and basement fully supported—and the home now protected against water intrusion—the homeowner can rely on long-term durability and peace of mind.
DoubleSafe waterproofing system installed
A DoubleSafe sump pump system sits within fresh drainage stone, designed to keep the basement dry even during extreme weather conditions.
PowerBrace® Wall Support System
PowerBrace® beams stabilize the bowing block wall, securing the structure and allowing for potential wall improvement over time.
Exterior after stabilization and backfill
The garage wall is now supported by new Helical Piers, and the surrounding soil has been regraded after structural repairs were completed.
Excavation exposing failing foundation wall
Crews opened the soil around the perimeter to install Helical Piers and GeoLock® components directly beneath and against stable soils for maximum support.
Concrete replaced after piering
Interior slab sections were cut, pier brackets installed, and concrete re-poured to create a smooth, stable floor surface. Concrete crews will go out in the spring to repair the garage slab.
GeoLock® and pier brackets in place
GeoLock® wall plates and Helical Pier brackets work together to permanently stabilize the garage's compromised foundation.
