A homeowner in Plum City, WI, contacted DBS Residential Solutions while preparing to sell his property. The foundation wall of an outbuilding had experienced significant inward movement, and the homeowner wanted to complete the necessary repairs to improve the property’s condition and marketability before putting it on the market.
The project called for a permanent stabilization solution with immediate wall straightening where possible. The scope focused on the open portion of the foundation wall, with the homeowner understanding that the enclosed section would not be included in the repair.
Foreman Trevor Ingle and his crew installed 15 Geo-Lock™ wall anchors with 7-foot channel supports. To complete the installation, the team excavated outside the foundation approximately 5 to 7 feet below grade to position the exterior anchor plates. Inside the basement, the Geo-Lock assemblies and wall plates were installed and secured to the foundation wall.
At its most severe point, the wall had deflected inward by approximately an inch and a half. The crew carefully straightened the wall during installation, bringing it back as close to its original position as conditions allowed while permanently stabilizing it against future movement.
Because of the size and depth of the excavation, the project required careful coordination around the property and neighboring yard. Once the system was installed, the crew backfilled the excavation and restored the grade as much as possible, with the homeowner planning to complete the final landscaping.
The homeowner was pleased with the overall results and now has a permanently stabilized foundation wall supported by a Geo-Lock wall anchor system.
