This Remer, MN garage was completed in 2005 but the homeowners noticed it began cracking and shifting significantly over the last few years. Wanting a permanent solution to the issue, they contacted DBS for a free, no-obligation estimate.

DBS Design Specialist James Miller visited the home for a thorough inspection. He noticed the garage slanting significantly in the corner opposite the driveway. To correct this issue, recommended foundation support and well as concrete leveling.

DBS Structural Foreman Zach Royer and his crew installed Push Piers to lift the sinking garage. From there, Concrete Foreman Dusting Behning and his crew installed PolyLevel® to lift the concrete and NexusPro™ to fill the cracks.

Owners of this family cabin in Remer, MN had grand plans to convert this space to their full-time home. After completing an add-on to this cabin originally built in the 90's, they noticed issues with the foundation's ability to keep out water. After meeting us at the Grand Rapids Home Show, they decided to tackle their water troubles with DBS.

Our Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo visited the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the waterproofing work. It was determined that both internal and external systems for waterproofing were needed to protect this home.

DBS Foreman Nick Burley and his production crew installed the exterior waterproofing system. They first excavated soil around the cabin foundation, installed a french drain, as well as covered the foundation in our SentrySeal® waterproof membrane. After filling the drain trench with aggregate gravel, backfilling with soil, and tamping the ground, the exterior waterproofing was complete.

From there, DBS Foreman Taylor Allen and crew worked on the interior waterproofing job. The crew began by breaking out concrete to create a trench around the cabin's footing. Our WaterGuard® drain system was put into place and will effectively capture wall and floor seepage, directing it to a new DoubleSafe™ sump pump. The crew finished the job by burying the discharge line in the lawn away from the home.

This family can now rest easy knowing their favorite retreat will be protected for years to come.

The owner of this family cabin in Remer, MN was concerned with worsening cracks in the basement walls. Bowing and cracked walls were leaking water and causing damage to the partially finished basement.

DBS Design Specialist Nathan Schroeder visited the home and provided a thorough inspection and a free, no-obligation estimate for the bowing basement walls. He proposed our both our PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System and GeoLockWall Anchor System to permanently stabilize and restore the shifting foundation.

DBS Foreman Nick Burley and first removed a bit of the drywall in the basement to prep for installation of the foundation support system. 4 GeoLockWall Plates were then installed, connected to 4 Earth Anchors on the exterior of the home.

Then they installed 2 PowerBrace I-beams, connecting them to the basement's concrete floor and ceiling joists. Initial tightening by our crew was done to immediately straighten the wall's position. These beams will be tightened over time by our service department with the goal of restoring the wall to its original position.

Both of these foundation repair systems can be seen in the after photo and will work together to correct the cracked and bowing walls. The homeowner can now rest easy knowing that their home has been thoroughly supported by DBS.

Foundation Stabilization and Cleanspace Encapsulation in Remer, MN

When this home was inspected by one of our specialist, the main beam running across the middle was not sufficiently supported and needed permanent stabilization. Also, the space lacked sufficient insulation.  Our solution was to have the floor lifted and leveled back to its original position, using our patented SmartJacks. Additionally, the specialist found that the crawlspace had some water leakage. Our solution to install drainage matting and a sump pump would solve these water issues. Spray foam along the rim joist would make the home more energy efficient. These quality solutions would leave the home safe, secure and comfortable.

I have a basement, 26x42, which has been getting water. Some of the issue is leakage where the septic cut-out is, and I'm not sure if water is coming up through the floor or not. This is a solid concrete foundation, insulated in the interior. I would like to understand approximate costs fo your french drain system, or if you have any other thoughts on how to fix this permanently. Thanks - Steve Allison

I will be building a new cabin on high water table and poor soils. I'm interested in using Helical Piers to shore up the footings and poured walls. Do you go out as far as Remer/Boy Lake and are you interested in looking at my project or could you make a recommendation if you don't go that far? Thanks
