The Two Harbors School District contacted DBS Residential Solutions to address ongoing water intrusion at Two Harbors High School. During heavy rains and spring thaw, water had made its way into the basement area, leaving visible signs of moisture and efflorescence on the walls.
The existing sump system was no longer providing an effective solution, and the school district was looking for a permanent fix to help keep the space dry.
Foreman Nick Langevin and his crew completed the waterproofing project, installing a new drainage and sump system along with CleanSpace® to help manage moisture along the basement walls. During installation, the team adjusted the original plan and used DryTrak® where it was better suited for the conditions. New sump systems were also installed to help relieve water pressure beneath the floor and direct water safely away through the building’s existing drainage setup.
Working around the unique conditions of a school building, including HVAC equipment and existing plumbing, the DBS crew was able to create a customized waterproofing solution for the space.
With the project complete, Two Harbors High School now has a more reliable system in place to manage water during heavy rains and spring snowmelt — helping keep the building dry and reducing the risk of water intrusion disrupting the school day. Kids will no longer have to worry about missing school due to water intrusion!
