This Finlayson, MN home was built in the 1930's. With a rock foundation and a cement floor, it was prone to taking on water. The owner wanted to fix the water issues for an overall safer and more usuable basement.
DBS Design Specialist Rich Johnsen is an expert in basement waterproofing and visited the home to provide a thorough inspection. It was determined that drain tile would be installed as well as a new sump pump to protect the basement against water intrusion.
DBS Foreman Zach Jorenby and his crew worked on the interior waterproofing job. The crew began by breaking out concrete to create a trench around the home's footing. Our WaterGuard® drain system was put into place and will effectively capture wall and floor seepage, directing it to a new UltraSump™ sump pump with battery back-up. CleanSpace®, a thick, white poly sheet material was then installed to direct any water leaking from the walls into the drain system below. CleanSpace® makes an excellent covering for basement foundation walls. The crew finished the job by burying the discharge line in the lawn away from the home.
This family can now rest easy knowing their basement has the utmost protection in waterproofing technology.
The owner of this home in Finlayson, MN had just purchased the property and wanted to take care of the foundation issues as it is a rental property. They reached out to DBS in hopes of finding a solution.
Design Specialist James Miller went to the home to conduct a free no-obligation estimate for the homeowner. After a thorough inspection, James generated a quote for our push pier system.
A DBS Foreman led the installation of this project with assistance from a crew. Together they installed 8 push piers beneath the foundation of the home. Push piers work to lift and level homes from their settled state by being pushed into the ground with heavy machinery until they are secured in stable soil. During installation, the push piers experience massive loads while being installed-- heavier than the structure-- to ensure that once installed, they will not fail.
Now that the home has been permanently stabilized, the homeowner can relax with peace of mind.
A cabin owner in Brook Park, MN had concerns about the structure's foundation. The vertical supports in the crawl space beneath the cabin were leaning and causing concern. Looking for a permanent solution, they reached out to DBS for more information about our foundation support systems.
DBS Design Specialist James Miller visited the Minnesota cabin and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the foundation support work. He determined that the crawl space would have helical piers installed to lift and support the home where the foundation was failing.
DBS Foreman Trevor Ingle and his crew added 24 feet of supplemental support beneath the cabin. From there, they installed 8 helical piers and 4 SmartJack® support beams. To finish the job, they added our SilverGlo™ insulation topped with gravel as frost protection, preventing heaving to the foundation footings as the ground freezes during winter months.
DBS has a variety of foundation support solutions to permanently stabilize homes and cabins like this one.
