In Kerrick, MN, a homeowner noticed unwanted condensation forming in their new attic—an early warning sign of poor insulation and trapped moisture. Knowing they needed a vapor barrier and better thermal protection, they reached out to our team. We installed TruSoft™ Cellulose for thorough attic coverage and added SilverGlo™ rigid foam panels to boost thermal resistance and create an effective vapor barrier. With this upgraded insulation system in place, the attic is now dry, efficient, and protected from future moisture issues.
The owner of this home in Effie, MN noticed bowing walls in their basement and was concerned about them caving in. The homeowner had just recently purchased the property last year and a stud broke through the drywall a few months later. Looking for a solution, the homeowner reached out to DBS.
Design Specialist, Henrik Makitalo led the installation of this project with help from a crew. Together they installed 21 GeoLock™ Wall Anchors to permanently stabilizer the walls in the basement. GeoLock™ anchors are installed by first excavating a small hole into the ground outside of the home-- the distance away from the foundation depends on the strength of the soil. Then holes are drilled into the walls from the interior to drill a steel rod out to the excavation site. A GeoLock™ wall anchor plate is installed over the rod in the trench and secured with a bolt, and the same is done on the basement wall side. The bolt is tightened in an effort to help straighten the wall and can be tightened again during dry seasons.
Now that the wall has been permanently stabilized, the homeowner can relax comfortably in their new home without worrying that their basement walls are going to cave in.
This customer had a barn slab that was uneven and had cracked in many different places. Using our Polylevel system we drilled a few penny sized holes into the concrete and were able to inject the foam necessary to raise the uneven parts of the slab back to where they should be. We then sealed the small holes we had made and the cracks that had previously formed.
Homeowners of this property in Nashwauk, MN noticed that their basement wall had separated from the flooring while they were installing an egress window over the past summer. One of the owners was referred to DBS by a co-worker, who had seen an advertisement for DBS on their local television station. Looking for a permanent solution to their issue, they contacted DBS.
Design Specialist James Miller went out to the property to conduct a free no-obligation estimate. After completing a thorough inspection, James informed the homeowners that their home would be a great candidate for DBS's PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System solution. This solution would help to correct the displacement of the wall over time and prevent the wall from additional cracking.
Foreman Osia Williams led the installation for this project, and with the help of his crew, they successfully installed 4 PowerBrace™ I-beams. The I-beams were a great solution to this basement's issue because each I-beam has a bracket at the top that can be tightened during dry seasons in order to help straighten the wall.
The owners can now relax comfortably in their home knowing that their foundation has been permanently stabilized, and they have peace of mind knowing that they don't need to worry about replacing the entire wall anymore.
The homeowner of this cabin in Nashwauk, MN noticed that the floors were sagging and were concerned that they would eventually cave in. The original foundation supports were made with wood and over time they settled into the soil as moisture levels changed. Looking for a permanent solution to stabilize their flooring, the owner contacted DBS.
Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo went out to the property to conduct a free no-obligation estimate for the owner. After completing a thorough inspection, Henrik advised them that DBS has a solution specifically designed to combat sagging floors called the SmartJack® System.
Foreman Trevor Ingle led the installation of this project and with the help of a crew, successfully installed 5 SmartJack® supports. They also replaced the main wooden beam with a steel beam to further ensure the stability of the new support system. Installing the SmartJack® System effectively raised and leveled the sagging floors, providing permanent stabilization and prevention from the potential of caved-in flooring.
The owner of this cabin can now relax comfortably and peacefully while on vacation knowing that their floors will not cave in and their cabin has been properly supported.
