This crawl space had issues with water. The home itself was on the bottom of a slope and water would sometimes gather in the crawl space. Standing water creates a very damp crawl space atmosphere which contributes to mold, musty smells, and rot. This nasty crawl space required a complete encapsulation to seal it away from the problems it was facing. Underneath our CleanSpace matting in the corner of this crawl space we have installed a sump pump to prevent water from gathering and causing further issues with the home. This completed system brings new life to a home that may have eventually felt the effects of mold and rot if not handled properly. 

After meeting us at the Duluth Home Show, homeowners in Beaver Bay, MN reached out to DBS regarding the crawl space of their home. Crawl spaces with exposed earth are prone to fluctuating humidity, creating moisture and mold issues. This was concerning for the owner, as it can cause damage to the home and foundation as well as raise health issues. 

A DBS Design Specialist visited the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the crawl space encapsulation service. It was determined that the crawl space would have CleanSpace® installed to act as a vapor barrier for the area. The DBS Foreman and crew laid the vapor barrier throughout the space to prevent the spread of moisture, and also added TerraBlock™ insulation to the space. Finally, a SaniDry™ dehumidifier will curb moisture levels due to temperature fluctuation in the space.

This customer reached out to DBS after noticing they had water leaking around the perimeter of their mothers basement and they didn't want to worry about her going down to do laundry.
