Cold Home in Duluth, MN More Comfortable with Dr. Energy Saver® Insulation

Homeowners in Duluth, MN were looking to make their home more comfortable year-round. Looking to prevent ice dams in the winter and reduce heating bills, the homeowners reached out to DBS for a permanent solution.

A Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. After inspecting the property and conducting an energy audit, it was determined that air sealing, and blown-in insulation were necessary to effectively seal the space.

Our production crew first removed the existing insulation in the attic. They then sealed the gaps in building material and spaces surrounding the attic ducts with a layer of Spray Foam. From there, they used our TruSoft™ cellulose to blow into the space. TruSoft™ has a higher R-value than fiberglass and other cellulose materials. 

Sealing the attic was key to prevent warm air from escaping the home, improving the overall energy-efficiency and health of the space.
