Musty Crawlspace Sealed in Duluth, MN

Duluth, MN homeowners wanted to seal their dirt crawl space. It had very little insulation, causing cold conditions for the room above it. But their biggest issues was the musty smell. Design Specialist Henry Jungbauer is an expert in energy-saving solutions and visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate. After a thorough inspection, Henry drafted a custom-plan to seal this dirt crawl space and protect the home above it.

Foreman Orrin Sundberg and his production crew installed drainage matting and CleanSpace® vapor barrier. The drainage matting helps water properly drain from the space. In turn, the vapor barrier prevents condensation in the wet dirt from evaporating into the air and traveling up into the living space.

Our crew finished the encapsulation job by using spray foam to seal and insulate the crawl space rim joists. This will prevent cold air from entering the crawl space and cooling the living space above it.

The homeowner was happy with the work done, and now has a solid solution to protect their home year-round.
