This home in Hayward, WI was settling and the floors were sagging, especially toward the center of the home. As you can see in this photo, there is almost no vertical support for this structure.
The crawl space was providing very little support to the structure above it.
These beams have a 25-year warranty are made of galvanized steel to prevent corrosion and rust.
Our crawl space repair crew of 4 highly-trained installer mounted 35 SmartJack Beams along new steel I-beam supports.
These telescoping support beams are designed to lift and level sagging crawl space ceilings.
SmartJacks are secured to either the existing ceiling joists or in this case with a bracket that connects to a supplemental support beam.
A homeowner in Hayward, WI wanted to replace the flooring on their main level. When preparing for the work, they noticed significant sloping in certain areas of the floor. They decided to contact DBS for a free, no-obligation foundation repair estimate in order to correct the problem before investing in new flooring.
DBS Design Specialist Rich Johnsen visited the home and inspected the crawl space to find the root of the issue. The dirt crawl space was unsealed and the main supports were sinking. In order to provide a permanent solution for this homeowner, Rich recommended supplemental support along running along the entire length of the home.
DBS Foreman Taylor and his crew performed the crawl space repair work. They installed 175 feet of horizontal steel support beams parallel to the dirt crawl space. Our team then installed a total of 35 SmartJack® telescoping vertical beams beneath the new support beam and beneath the home's existing supports. The SmartJack® beams are anchored to the ceiling joists and supplemental support beams and held in place by steel footings.
This home is now restored to a level position and is ready for home improvement projects in the future.
