CleanSpace® Encapsulation Installed
CleanSpace® liner was installed across the crawl space to seal the area from moisture, odors, and cold drafts. This barrier helps the space warm up faster during cold months and improves overall comfort in the home.
Drainage Matting Layer Installed
Drainage matting was laid beneath the vapor barrier to create an air gap for proper water movement. This ensures any moisture can drain toward the SmartDrain™ system.
TerraBlock™ Insulation Added
TerraBlock™ insulation panels were placed on the crawl space floor to provide thermal protection and help retain heat. This upgrade significantly improves comfort during winter use.
Before Encapsulation: Exposed Dirt & Moisture
The crawl space before work began showed exposed soil and signs of moisture buildup. These conditions contributed to odors, cold floors, and discomfort during colder seasons.
Preparing the Area for SmartDrain™ Installation
Large rocks and debris were removed from the crawl space to create a level, clean area for the SmartDrain™ system. Clearing this space ensures proper drainage and long-term performance.
Rebuilding the Surrounding Insulation Layer
After the drain was set, TerraBlock™ insulation and drainage layers were carefully replaced around the opening to restore thermal protection and moisture control.
Excavation and Gravel Base Added
A hole was dug and filled with drainage gravel to support the SmartDrain™. This base allows water to flow freely into the system if a plumbing leak ever occurs.
SmartDrain™ Positioned Over Drainage Matting
The SmartDrain™ was placed over drainage matting, which helps channel water underneath the CleanSpace® system should a leak happen in the future.
SmartDrain™ Fully Integrated with CleanSpace®
The SmartDrain™ was sealed into the CleanSpace® liner, providing a neat, airtight fit. This final step ensures the vapor barrier remains continuous while still allowing leak detection and drainage.
