All 4 walls in this basement in Aurora, MN were bowing to a large degree. There were stairstep cracks as well as large horizontal cracks in the block foundation and total wall failure was inevitable. Looking for a solution, the owner called DBS.
Design Specialist Rich Johnsen visited the home to conduct a free no-obligation estimate for the owner. After a thorough inspection, he recommended that the owners employ DBS to install PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System to permanently stabilize their foundation.
Foreman Zach Jorenby less the installation of this project. With the help of a team together they installed 6 PowerBrace™ I-beams. The PowerBrace™ I beams are installed by securing steel brackets to the rim joists of the flooring. Over time the brackets can be tightened in an attempt to straighten the walls. Each PowerBrace™ is backed with a 75-year transferrable warranty so if the owners ever sell their property the next owners will be able to claim the warranty if the PowerBrace™ were to ever fail.
Now that the home has been permanently stabilized, the owners can relax comfortably in their home without worrying that their foundation walls will cave in.
As you can see from the photo, this basement foundation wall was collapsing inward and it was quite apparent. The homeowner was looking for help in stabilizing the wall to prevent further damages, and reached out to DBS. It was determined that the wall would need to have the PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System installed to help support the bowing wall. The results of the project can be viewed here.
The owner of this home in Knife River, MN reached out to us looking for help with their sinking crawl space foundation.
One of our Design Specialists came to the home to run a free no-obligation estimate for the homeowner. After a thorough inspection, our Design Specialist created a quote for our SmartJack® System.
One of our crews came out to install the system. Together they installed crawl space support pillars underneath the beams to permanently stabilize the foundation. They also installed CleanSpace® water vapor barrier and sprayed polyurethane foam in the crawl space to waterproof the area.
Now that the crawl space has been repaired, the homeowner can relax with peace of mind.
This is the kind of cabin you would not feel very relaxed at. Isn't that what you want when you go on vacation?
With a foundation like this, the owner was experiencing doors that wouldn't open, and slanted floors. We have a solution for you!
DBS received a call that required foundation and crawl space repair. The household required several services. First, excavate the home. Then, put a layer of our waterproofing materials, and then put exterior drainage around the entire home. The drainage would ultimately lead away from the home after this long process of hard work, but DBS is always up for the job. We’ve included a photo of the home before we began the production process, followed by the excavation of the home to get a better idea of the work that DBS did for our clients.
