A homeowner in Duluth, MN reached out to DBS in need of several services to help create a healthier and more comfortable environment for their basement. They needed to have added wall support for their foundation, as well as a waterproofing system, put in. A crew was able to go in and install the PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System along the foundation wall for stabilization, as well as CleanSpace® wall poly for waterproofing. Both products are optimal in providing exactly what one may need to support their basement. 

The owner of this 1900s Duluth, MN home noticed large horizontal cracks formed in their basement walls and were causing them to bow inward. They also mentioned that every time the train up the road passed by, the house would shake. Looking for a permanent solution in case they were to sell the home in the future, they reached out to DBS.

Design Specialist James Miller went to the home to conduct a free no-obligation estimate for the homeowner. After a thorough inspection, James told the homeowners about a DBS solution called GeoLock™ Wall Anchor System.

Foreman Trevor Ingle led the installation of this project. With help from a crew, they installed 5 GeoLock™ Wall Anchors to support the basement walls. The GeoLock™ Wall Anchors can be tightened during dry periods in an attempt to straighten the wall back to its original position. Each anchor is backed with a 25-year transferrable warranty in case the homeowner sells in the future.

Now that the home has been permanently stabilized the owner will be able to relax more comfortably knowing that their home is safe.

Foreman Trevor Ingle, along with a partner, led the installation of this project. Together they installed 5 PowerBrace™ systems. These support systems are made of zinc-plated steel, making them strong and resistant to rust. They have connected to the rim joists for a secure hold. They are able to be adjusted over time to straighten out the bowed wall and position it back to its original position.

DBS foreman, Trevor Ingle, led the installation of this project with help from his Co-Foreman, Gavin Denzler. Earth anchors are installed outside of the home, below the ground, and the steel plates are installed inside the home on the bowing wall. These systems are connected using a steel rod which stops any further movement and can also be adjusted in order to restore the wall back to its original position.
