DBS Before & After Photos

Facing an unfinished basement with visible water damage and torn drywall in Crystal, MN, a homeowner turned to us at DBS for help. In Brooklyn Park, MN, a homeowner had aspirations to reclaim their utility room and side door areas, which had long been unusable due to water issues. The 'before' photo vividly illustrates the challenge: a damp, disheartening space that seemed unfit for storage.

As you can see in the before photo, uneven and settling concrete created a significant trip hazard in Minneapolis, especially for a homeowner’s mother who uses a walker. We used PolyLevel® to carefully raise and stabilize the sunken slabs, and NexusPro® to seal joints and cracks, ensuring durability against the harsh local weather. SealantPro® was applied to protect the surface from further damage. The after photo showcases the remarkable transformation, making everyday walking a breeze for the homeowner's mother.

This family in South Minneapolis needed a solution to the flooring in their basement. DBS Design Specialist Jason Swanson is an expert in basement finishing and helps homeowners with a smart, custom-design for their basement space. He visited the home and provided a free inspection and estimate for the work. The homeowners wanted the carpet gone and wood floor over the entire space. 

Lead Carpenter Paul Villella and a team of our basement finishing crew began the project by removing the basement carpeting. Beneath the carpeting were some asbestos tiles. Safe removal of asbestos is a complicated process because disturbing the material is hazardous to workers and homeowners health. The other option is to leave the tiles undisturbed and safely cover them. The homeowners decided to go with this route and chose our MillCreek Flooring™. It is available in several natural colors, including the Natural Oak installed here.
