DBS Before & After Photos

The owner of this family cabin in Remer, MN was concerned with worsening cracks in the basement walls. Bowing and cracked walls were leaking water and causing damage to the partially finished basement. 

DBS Design Specialist Nathan Schroeder visited the home and provided a thorough inspection and a free, no-obligation estimate for the bowing basement walls. He proposed our both our PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System and GeoLock™ Wall Anchor System to permanently stabilize and restore the shifting foundation.

DBS Foreman Nick Burley and first removed a bit of the drywall in the basement to prep for installation of the foundation support system. 4 GeoLock™ Wall Plates were then installed, connected to 4 Earth Anchors on the exterior of the home. 

Then they installed 2 PowerBrace I-beams, connecting them to the basement's concrete floor and ceiling joists. Initial tightening by our crew was done to immediately straighten the wall's position. These beams will be tightened over time by our service department with the goal of restoring the wall to its original position. 

Both of these foundation repair systems can be seen in the after photo and will work together to correct the cracked and bowing walls.The homeowner can now rest easy knowing that their home has been thoroughly supported by DBS.

After a thorough inspection, our Design Specialist suggested that we implement Waterproofing, Foundation Repair, and install a new egress window to enhance the overall quality of the basement. Our crew went to the property to carry out the recommendations and installed 5 PowerBraces™ to provide support and stability to the bowing wall. Additionally, they installed a Waterguard® system to address the seeping water and a new egress window to improve the ventilation.

This customer contacted DBS after noticing that water comes into their basement every spring thaw and that each time it happens, their is a lot of water but no visible cracks.  When our Design Specialist went out to the property, he recommended installing a WaterGuard® along the walls of the basement to help with water flow. WaterGuard does this by effectively capturing wall and floor seepage before it reaches your basement floor. The water enters the system via inlet holes and flows through the drainage pipe to your sump pump.

Once we were able to get out to the property, the installation of the WaterGuard® went smoothly and the customer was happy with the results!
