Our Commercial Representative Casey Healy was the foreman on this project. He and his production crew had to excavate soil on the outside of the home to correct the bowing walls. Once that was achieved, our team applied SentrySeal® to the foundation wall as well as SilverGlo™ insulation. The homeowners decided to address the crawl space issue first before following through with proper attic insulation. In the crawl space, the crew gutted the old insulation to start with a clean slate. Crawl Space Encapsulation Service by DBS involves installing 3-layers of insulation. First, a layer of drainage matting is installed over the ground of the crawl space to assist the movement of water underneath the layers of insulation. Next panels of durable foam insulation called TerraBlock™ are laid over the matting. Finally, the CleanSpace® vapor barrier is installed to seal and complete the encapsulation process. To properly insulate the walls, polyurethane spray foam was applied to thoroughly air-seal the crawl space.
Now that the crawl space has been properly insulated, the owners will notice how much warmer their flooring is in the winter and how much lower their energy bills are. They can finally relax comfortably without worry.
