Homeowners in Duluth, MN had a wet basement that was causing a host of issues. They knew it was most likely due to cracking in their foundation. In search of a permanent solution, they reached out to DBS.
A DBS Design Specialist visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate for the foundation support and waterproofing systems. A DBS foreman and crew installed a new french drain system and CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier along the perimeter of the basement. This system directs all the moisture to a new SuperSump® Premier Pump System. A new discharge line was installed and connected to our IceGuard® drain outlets. This will prevent wintertime freezing of the discharge line.
To permanently stabilize the basement walls, the production crew installed 8 PowerBrace™ steel I-beams. This PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System, is meant to support walls from further movement and can be tightened over time, in order to restore the walls to their original position. The PowerBrace™ beams are zinc-plated and backed with a 75-year warranty against movement.
The installation was successful and provided a solid solution to the leaking water and foundation cracks!
