Cracked and Settled Concrete in Taylors Falls, MN Repaired by DBS

This homeowner in Taylors Falls, MN wanted to restore the workspace in their garage. Settlement and changes in the seasons lead the concrete slab to crack in several places.

Henrik Makitalo was the Design Specialist for this project and visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate for the concrete repair project. He designed a plan that would raise the sinking slab but keep the grade slanted slightly towards the garage doors for ease of cleaning.

DBS Concrete Repair Foreman Dustin Behning and his crew used PolyLevel® to raise the sinking slab. PolyLevel® is made with a specially engineered 2-part compound foam that expands when applied and hardens when dry. To take care of the cracks, our team used NexusPro™ to fill and completely seal them.

DBS Lifts and Levels Concrete Sidewalk in St Louis Park, MN Home

This home in St Louis Park, MN had uneven sidewalks alongside their home. Uneven sidewalks are problematic for many reasons; they create tripping hazards, they are difficult to shovel in the winter, and they affect the way rainwater flows around your home's foundation. Wanting to restore their concrete, they reached out to DBS for a free, no-obligation estimate.

Our Concrete Repair Design Specialist Steve LaFontaine visited the home measured the concrete sidewalk settlement. To lift and level the concrete, PolyLevel® was recommended.

DBS Foreman Dusting Behning and the production crew successfully leveled the different portions of the sidewalk using PolyLevel®. This 2-part poly material expands upon application to raise sinking concrete slabs. It hardens as it cures and the finished concrete can be walked on within 15 minutes of application. Cracks are then filled with NexusPro, a material that seals cracks with a waterproof membrane.

This home now has a safe, stable, and level sidewalk that will last for years to come!

Sinking Floors in Duluth, MN Support with SmartJacks

A homeowner in Duluth contacted DBS looking for a solution to the sinking floor on the main level of their home. They were had added some telescoping support beams in the basement to stabilize the floors, but they had not permanently remedied the uneven and bouncy floors in the main level.

DBS Design Specialist Natha Schroeder visited the home and provided a thorough inspection and free estimate for structural work. He designed a plan that would add a section of supplemental beam to the basement. This beam would be held up by vertical SmartJack® supports.

DBS Foreman Zach Jorenby and his basement repair crew completed this basement support project. They installed a SmartJack® System consisting of 5 vertical beams. These vertical supports attach to the ceiling joists and concrete floor via steel brackets.

After our team completed a lift procedure in the basement, the main level of the home was permanently stabilized and protected against further movement.

Bouncy and Uneven Floors in Minneapolis, MN Repaired with SmartJackĀ® System

Homeowners of this older home in Minneapolis, MN had bouncy floors on their main level. Soft spots in the floor meant that support in the basements was lacking. They called DBS to schedule a free, no-obligation estimate for our expertise in diagnosing the structural issues.

DBS Design Specialist Nathan Schroeder visited the home and gave a thorough inspection. He pinpointed the weak areas in the floor and evaluated the basement support system. Because this home was built in 1901, it is not surprising that some of the floor joists are starting to droop. Nathan suggesting installing our SmartJack® System.

DBS Foreman Zach Jorenby and his basement repair crew installed supplemental supports for the sinking floor joists, as well as our SmartJack® System. Each SmartJack® vertical support beam is secured to the basement ceiling, as sealed with concrete into the basement floor. Made from galvanized steel, these beams are adjusted with a heavy-duty threaded rod to meet any basement or crawlspace ceiling. Once installed, they offer permanent stabilization.

Waterproofing System Installed in Farmington, MN to Stop Pooling Water

Water would leak into this Farmington, MN basement and pool during periods of heavy rainfall. Wanting to eventually completely finish their basement, the owners knew they needed to tackle the water issue.

DBS Production Manager Jason Brummer was the Design Specialist for the waterproofing project. He assessed the home's foundation on the interior and exterior of the home. Finding no major structural issues, he determined the best course of action would be to install an interior waterproofing system.

DBS Foreman Zach Jorenby and his waterproofing crew began the installation by excavating concrete around the perimeter of the basement. The crew then installed WaterGuard® interior drain tile. Water enters the system via inlet holes in the drain and it is carried to the basement sump pump. Once the WaterGuard® is in place, our team covers the drain with concrete to completely conceal the system.
