The owner of this home in Blaine, MN noticed that her belongings in their basement were getting ruined during rainy seasons. They wanted a safe and dry basement to be able to finish part of the space eventually. In hopes of finding a solution, they reached out to DBS.
A DBS Design Specialist went to their home to conduct a free no-obligation estimate of the issue. After a thorough inspection, the Design Specialist provided a solution to their issue, a french drain system. The Design Specialist came up with a design proposal on the spot so that the homeowner was able to get an idea of how much the installation of the system would cost.
A DBS Foreman led the installation of this project with assistance from a crew. Together they installed a WaterGuard®french drain system around the perimeter of the basement interior by jackhammering trenches, placing the drains inside, and finishing off the project with concrete for a flush finish with the floor. The crew also installed a CleanSpace® water vapor barrier on the walls to help direct leaks behind the material down into the drains.
Now that the home has been properly waterproofed, the homeowner can relax more comfortably knowing that their belongings will be free of further water damage.

One of our foremen led his group in this installation. The team started by removing concrete spots from the house's interior perimeter. Then, to permanently address flooding, they installed our sub-floor drainage system. After that, the team installed our CleanSpace wall barrier to keep water vapor from entering through the foundation walls. This led to the homeowner feeling confident their basement will be dry moving forward!
Previously, this basement in Brainerd struggled with persistent water leaks, forcing homeowners into a cycle of temporary remedies—from continual water removal to makeshift repairs that proved ineffective over time. Facing the prospect of deteriorating walls and a consistently damp storage area was not acceptable. In the current photo, observe the remarkable change brought about by our WaterGuard® system. Today, the space remains dry, safeguarded, and capable of storing valuables securely, free from water damage concerns. A DBS Design Specialist visited the home to conduct a free no-obligation estimate. After a thorough inspection, they recommended our WaterGuard® System.
A DBS Foreman led the installation of this project with help from a crew. Together they installed the WaterGuard® System by jackhammering trenches around the perimeter of the basement and placing the WaterGuard® tubing into each trench. They smoothed over the area with concrete for a flush finish. The drains will help direct water into a sump pump that is able to expel water up and away from the foundation.
Now that the basement has been properly waterproofed, the homeowner can finish the basement to create more living space without worrying about water damage to the space.
