They had been having issues with mold in their basement and wanted a permanent solution to the problem. Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. Foreman, Kevin Steffey, and his production team installed our WaterGuard® System along the perimeter of the basement, as well as CleanSpace® Wall Poly on the walls. The system directs all moisture to the home's existing sump pump.

These homeowners in Deer River, MN reached out to DBS for help repairing their wet and moldy crawl space. One of their children has asthma and the uncontrolled moisture in their crawl space was carrying allergens and odors throughout their home. They were ready for a permanent solution when they called.

After inspecting the damp crawl space, Hunter recommended installing CleanSpace® vapor barrier over drainage matting, a SaniDry™ Sedona dehumidifier, and closed cell spray foam insulation. A family cabin in Duluth, MN had been in the family for generations. Its dirt crawl space was causing moisture issues as well a musty smell in the main living space. Because the cabin is not used year-round, they wanted to protect it as much as possible against moisture and fluctuating weather even when they aren't there. They reached out to DBS about our crawl space encapsulation service.
Design Specialist Henry Jungbauer is an expert in energy-saving solutions and visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate. Foreman Nick Woods II and his production crew installed a CleanSpace® vapor barrier on top of drainage matting to properly seal the dirt crawl space floor. Our ultra-dense TerraBlock™ foam insulation, as well as closed-cell spray foam, were applied to fully seal and regulate temperature in the space. These products work together to keep, cold air, moisture, and pests at bay.
The homeowner was happy with the work done, and now has a solid solution to protect their cabin against low winter time temperatures.
Homeowners of this McGregor, MN home knew they had to tackle its foundation issues soon after its purchase. Individual blocks in the foundation wall were shifting and this was causing water instrustion in the basement. A DBS Design Specialist visited the home and performed a thorough inspection, assessing the basement wall shifting, as well as the exterior of the home. The action plan for the block walls in the basement was to install our PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System, and well as CarbonArmor® Wall Reinforcing System.
In order to ensure that the basement would stay dry, our DBS Foreman Zach Royer and his team installed a waterproofing system around the perimeter of the basement. This included 96 feet of WaterGuard® and CleanSpace® leading to a new TripleSafe™ sump pump.
The crew then installed 4 PowerBrace™ I-beams. Our team anchored the beams to the basement concrete, as well as to the rim joists in the ceiling. These beams will be tightened overtime to restore the wall's original position.
