Foundation Repair Before & After Photos

Nestled in Duluth, MN, this cherished family cabin needed a permanent fix to eliminate years of worry about stability. Before, as seen in the left photo, uneven floors caused by a sinking foundation threatened to spoil many more generational memories. To address this, we used helical piers to lift and level the cabin, providing a solid base. The SmartJack® system was then added as secondary support, ensuring long-term stabilization and peace of mind. The after photo to the right proudly showcases a safely supported, worry-free space, ensuring family traditions continue for generations to come.

This barn in Duluth, MN was experiencing issues with sagging floors. Floorboards towards the center of the barn were sagging due to a weak middle support beam and the owners were concerned about the safety of their chickens. Hoping to make the barn safe again, the owners reached out to DBS.

Design Specialist James Miller went to the barn to conduct a free no-obligation estimate for the owners. After a thorough inspection, he told the owners that DBS had the perfect solution to their sagging floors. James educated the owners on our SmartJack® System.

Foreman Trevor Ingle led the installation of this project with help from a crew. Together they installed 5 SmartJack® supports and replaced the old main beam with a steel beam. The SmartJack® supports are installed by excavating a 2' cubic foot of dirt for each footing and filling it with engineered fill rock. The fill rock will prevent further sinking after installation. The supports are placed on top of the new rock and are attached to the steel beam to provide adequate support to the structure.

The owners can relax knowing that their chickens can live comfortably and safely in their barn. 

The owner of this home in Duluth, MN reached out to DBS through our website to have the basement walls evaluated. There was some cracking and there was concern about the integrity of their home. 

DBS Design Specialist, Rich Johnsen, examined the walls in question and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the homeowner. After the inspection was complete, Rich recommended our PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System to address the basement wall issues in this home. 

A DBS Foreman led the installation with the help of a production crew, and they installed 18 PowerBrace™ braces to the basement walls. 

With the basement walls permanently stabilized, DBS was able to restore peace of mind for the homeowners.

When foundation problems are caught when they first begin they can often be permanently stabilized with our patented Power Braces. These are used when a foundation wall is secure, but shows signs of worsening over time. Instead of allowing the wall to bow and crack further we installed Power Braces to ensure the wall is permanently stabilized.

This foundation wall had experienced the effects of the backfilled earth continuously pushing on the foundation wall. The wall had cracked and was at risk to get much worse, fortunately the homeowner understood the severity of the situation and chose to have us install our incredibly strong carbon armor straps against the wall to aid it in maintaining its position. These straps are very versatile and since they lay flat to the wall they don't create any bulky obstacles in the basement.
