These homeowners in Cloquet, MN were struggling with ice dams forming on their home. They were looking for a professional team that could assist them, so they trusted DBS for help with their project. 

Design Specialist Austin Burley provided these homeowners with a free, no-obligation estimate to find the best solution for their ice dam problems. After a careful inspection, it was decided that TruSoft™ cellulose insulation, along with SprayFoam insulation, would be the best fit.

Nicholas Woods II led a team in the installation of this project. Together, the team removed the old, ineffective batting insulation. After doing so, SprayFoam insulation was used to air seal any holes and cracks in the attic, and to create a moisture resistant barrier for the space. Finally, TruSoft™ cellulose insulation was blown into the attic for a final layer of insulation that is eco-friendly and fire resistant. 

These homeowners can now relax in their happy, healthy home.

This customer had another contractor come in and blow in a bunch of fiberglass insulation. To properly insulate this home we dug through this insulation to find all the major penetrations found and air seal them. Then new attic air chutes need to be installed and the new cellulose blown in over the top of the fiberglass. Then we insulated the entire rim joist. These photos show the difference of how the attic was previously insulated and how we completed a full insulation installation. The home will now be warm and cozy.

A Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. After inspecting the property and conducting an energy audit, it was determined that proper air sealing and rigid foam insulation were necessary to effectively seal the space.

Our production crew first sealed the gaps in building material and spaces surrounding the attic ducts with ZypFoam™. They then laid down TerraBlock™, our foam insulation that is infused with graphite for a higher R-value. Our crews then applied spray foam areas prone to air leaking to completely seal off the home.

Sealing the attic was key to prevent warm air from escaping the home, and improving the overall energy health of the space. 

The company occupying this building wanted to insulate their building so that they could have better control over the internal climate of the building and they especially wanted to reduce the condensation that was forming on the ceiling and dripping into an area where they stored important chemicals for their work. In a matter of a few short days our crew effectively used spray foam insulation to properly insulate the metal building from the outside elements and eliminate the issue of moisture condensing on the ceiling.
