A homeowner in Esko, MN had installed ducts in their attic to help save energy. However, they were experiencing air leaks frequently, and reached out to DBS for a better solution. It was determined that our crew would go to the home and install spray foam insulation for the attic. Spray foam is an ideal choice of insulation for creating a more energy-efficient home environment. With the help of DBS, this homeowner will now be able to cut down on energy costs for their property from here on out.
The attic of this home had only eight inches of insulation installed which was inadequate to maintain the heat that was created inside the home. On top of this, the attic hatch was not properly insulated and was allowing conditioned air from inside the home to enter the attic and escape the home. Our specialist informed this homeowner of the benefits of blow-in insulation at specific depths. The homeowner decided on the depth of blow-in insulation that they were comfortable with and our production crew set out to make their dream a reality. From the photos it looks like this area of the attic was filled with an average of around 20 inches of insulation. This insulation provides a much better barrier between the cold attic and the living space below. With the addition of rigid foam board insulation installed over the hatch this attic is much more insulated and air sealed from the home below.
A homeowner in Saginaw, MN reached out to DBS regarding an upgrade to their home insulation to create a more energy-saving environment. A Design Specialist was able to provide a free, no-obligation estimate for the home, and it was determined that several areas would need to have spray foam insulation installed. Our crew was able to do just that, as shown in these photos. We were able to strip away the old drywall, and add spray foam to the knee wall within.
A homeowner in Foxboro, WI was in need of better insulation around their home to ensure a warmer and more comfortable living space. They reached out to DBS to help find a solution. A crew went in and provided the spray foam insulation service, which will help seize any cold air from entering vulnerable areas from outside the house. Additionally, this will also help save energy for the home.
This home in Superior, WI had trouble with retaining cool air in the summer and warm air in the winter. During the wintertime, the homeowner typically experiences high energy bills. Looking for an energy-efficient solution, the homeowner reached out to DBS.
Design Specialist Austin Burley went to the property to conduct a free no-obligation estimate. After a thorough inspection, Austin educated the owners on why their home was so energy-inefficient. Their attic was not sealed off properly underneath the insulation, allowing air to flow freely from living spaces into the attic.
Foreman Raeshawn Pelfrey led the installation of this project. With assistance from a crew, they removed all of the old insulation in the attic. Next, they applied spray foam over the floorboards to air-seal the space and blew in 17 inches of Tru-Soft™ cellulose insulation. Cellulose insulation will help insulate the home much better than traditional fiberglass batting.
Now that the attic has been properly insulated, the homeowners will notice that their home stays cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter without sacrificing money for high energy bills.
