This Duluth, MN home was built in 1978 with a block foundation and a walkout basement. The homeowner started noticing issues with the foundation shifting in one particular portion of the lower level. After a referral from a friend, the homeowners contacted DBS for a permanent solution.
Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate for the foundation repair work. He diagnosed the foundation as shearing - the bottom part of the wall had separated was pushing away from the rest of the wall.
Foreman Nick Burley and his crew installed 3 GeoLock™ Wall Plates and Earth Anchors to the failing foundation wall. This system uses the heavy-duty anchors in and connects them to plates on the wall interior wall. Connected with long, galvanized rods, these anchors are tightened to straighten the wall over time and provide maximum support.
The customer was happy with the work done and now has a permanent solution they can count on for years to come.
The owner of this Senior Living Facility in Babbitt, MN was looking for help with lifting and leveling the concrete. They had cracks and settlement in several areas of the sidewalk that were becoming safety concerns so they reached out to DBS!
Our Concrete Repair Design Specialist visited the facility and provided a free, no-obligation estimate. To lift and level the concrete, PolyLevel® was recommended. A DBS Foreman and production crew successfully installed and leveled the two different portions of the sidewalk using PolyLevel® and sealed the cracks using NexusPro™.
These residents now have a safe, stable, and level sidewalk that will last for years to come!
Homeowners in Duluth, MN had issues with water leaking into their basement after heavy rains. As evidenced in the before photo, this basement had incurred water damage to some of the basement walls and flooring. After receiving a recommendation from a local handy person, they contacted DBS for a permanent solution to their flooding basement.
DBS Design Specialist Nathan Schroeder provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the waterproofing system. A DBS Foreman and crew installed our WaterGuard® System along the perimeter of the basement, paired with our CleanSpace® vapor barrier on the walls. The vapor barrier will collect any water due to condensations, leaking walls, and direct it into the new drain system below.
DBS Foreman Joe Harris lead the install on this project, and our production teams successfully installed the basement waterproofing system.
Homeowners of this McGregor, MN home knew they had to tackle its foundation issues soon after its purchase. Individual blocks in the foundation wall were shifting and this was causing water instrustion in the basement. To prevent further damage, they reached our to DBS for more on our foundation repair service.
A DBS Design Specialist visited the home and performed a thorough inspection, assessing the basement wall shifting, as well as the exterior of the home. The action plan for the block walls in the basement was to install our PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System, and well as CarbonArmor® Wall Reinforcing System.
In order to ensure that the basement would stay dry, our DBS Foreman Zach Royer and his team installed a waterproofing system around the perimeter of the basement. This included 96 feet of WaterGuard® and CleanSpace® leading to a new TripleSafe™ sump pump.
The crew then installed 4 PowerBrace™ I-beams. Our team anchored the beams to the basement concrete, as well as to the rim joists in the ceiling. These beams will be tightened overtime to restore the wall's original position.
This Aitkin, MN home was built in the 1980's. For the last 5-10 years the homeowner noticed some changes in the energy efficiency of the home. During winter months, there were ice dam buildups. In order to protect their new metal roof from ice damage, they knew they needed a permanent solution.
Our Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist Jacob Nustad-Peluso visited the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the insulation work. Foreman Orrin Sundberg and his production crew first removed old fireglass batting and insulation. Next, they applied a layer of closed-cell spray foam to air seal the attic floor and once cured, they covered the floor with our Tru-Soft™ cellulose.
Additionally, our team covered a wall that was prone to air leaking with SilverGlo™ rigid insulation, and wrapped the chiminey in rock wool to better seal the entire attic.
This homeowner now has a more comfortable home, as well as a permanent solution for protecting their new metal roof.
