Basement Waterproofing Before & After Photos

Owners of this family cabin in Remer, MN had grand plans to convert this space to their full-time home. After completing an add-on to this cabin originally built in the 90's, they noticed issues with the foundation's ability to keep out water. After meeting us at the Grand Rapids Home Show, they decided to tackle their water troubles with DBS. 

Our Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo visited the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the waterproofing work. It was determined that both internal and external systems for waterproofing were needed to protect this home.

DBS Foreman Nick Burley and his production crew installed the exterior waterproofing system. They first excavated soil around the cabin foundation, installed a french drain, as well as covered the foundation in our SentrySeal® waterproof membrane. After filling the drain trench with aggregate gravel, backfilling with soil, and tamping the ground, the exterior waterproofing was complete. 

From there, DBS Foreman Taylor Allen and crew worked on the interior waterproofing job. The crew began by breaking out concrete to create a trench around the cabin's footing. Our WaterGuard® drain system was put into place and will effectively capture wall and floor seepage, directing it to a new DoubleSafe™ sump pump. The crew finished the job by burying the discharge line in the lawn away from the home. 

This family can now rest easy knowing their favorite retreat will be protected for years to come.

DBS received a call that a home in Deer River, MN looking to reduce the mold and mold odors in their home. The home had trouble with water and humidity, prior to calling us. The moisture created unwanted mold and mildew smells. DBS went to the home and quickly created a solution, our Design specialist, Royce Bunn, created a proposal to install a dehumidifying system and a CleanSpace® high-performance moisture barrier. We added some insulation and a drainage system to make sure the basement maintains a waterproof atmosphere, preventing mold in the future.

A DBS Foreman led the installation of this job with assistance from a crew. Together they installed a CleanSpace® water vapor barrier along the vertical walls in the crawl space. The crew also installed SilverGlo® rigid foam insulation panels along the walls in order to provide a layer of insulation to the space.
