This homeowner in NorthEast Minneapolis reached out to DBS for help insulating their unfinished basement. 

Our well trained Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist, Henrik Makitalo went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. Henrik measured where heat was escaping and recommended using closed cell spray foam to insulate this basement due to its rough and porous walls. DBS Foreman Kevin Steffey and his production crew worked hard to install the insulation.

This homeowner in Duluth, MN was experiencing energy inefficiency due to a poorly insulated attic and unsealed rim joists. The garage ceiling was also lacking insulation, allowing cold air to creep in. Our team sealed the rim joists to prevent air leaks and installed TruSoft™ cellulose insulation throughout the attic for improved coverage. SilverGlo™ rigid foam panels were added to enhance thermal resistance and reflect heat back into the space. The result? A more comfortable, energy-efficient home ready for Minnesota’s changing seasons.

Before tackling the chill of Minneapolis winters, our customer faced a common issue: inadequately insulated attic space, evident in the "before" photo. The lack of proper insulation was leading to uncomfortable living conditions and inefficiency. After a free, no-obligation inspection was set up with our Design Specialist Justin, we sprang into action, ensuring a comfortable home by implementing our truSoft™ insulation – a state-of-the-art solution for thermal efficiency. As showcased in the "after" photo, the space is now adequately insulated, transforming the attic from a cold, drafty area to a cozy, energy-efficient space. 

This homeowner contacted DBS to address ice dams and prevent further damage to their house in the future. When our Design Specialist went out to the property, they inspected the attic and recommended a hybrid system for living areas because the heat was irregular.

When our production crew went out to the property, they installed our Dr. Energy Saver insulation system in the attic - spray foam and TruSoft™ cellulose.

The owner of this home in Merrifield, MN discovered mold in their crawlspace. They wanted to get ahead of dealing with freezing pipes during the winter, so the homeowner contacted DBS.

Design Specialist Austin Burley went out to the home to conduct a free no-obligation estimate of the issue. After a thorough inspection, Austin recommended the Crawl Space Encapsulation service by DBS.

Foreman Raeshawn Pelfrey led the installation of this project with assistance from a crew. Together they stripped the crawl space of the old insulation. The first layer of crawl space encapsulation involves installing a layer of dimpled drainage matting to assist the flow of water underneath. Then a layer of TerraBlock™ foam insulation is installed as a barrier against frost. Finally, the previous layers are encased in a layer of CleanSpace® water vapor barrier. The crew also air-sealed the space with a polyurethane spray foam that expands into crevices as it is applied.

The crawl space has been thoroughly encapsulated and the homeowner will be able to relax more comfortably as their home retains cool air in the summer and warm air in the winter. They will also be happy to see lower energy bills as winter progresses.
