This family home in Deerwood, MN was built in the early 1900s so it was no surprise that water started leaking into the basement. The owners were hoping to partially finish the basement but knew they had to take care of the water issues so they contacted DBS in search of a permanent solution.
DBS Design Specialist Rich Johnsen is our expert in basement waterproofing and visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate. After thoroughly inspecting the leaky basement, Rich designed a custom plan for a basement waterproofing system including our WaterGuard® french drain system and a new sump pump.
DBS Foreman Joe Harris and his crew installed our basement waterproofing products. First, they dug a trench around the perimeter of the basement and carried out the concrete. From there, they installed our WaterGuard® drainage system and surrounded it with gravel to encourage proper drainage. Once the drain system install was complete, they connected it to a TripleSafe™ sump pump and covered the drain with new concrete.
This family now has a proven system for keeping water out of the basement.
Homeowners in White Bear Lake, MN wanted to invest in their home and gain more space by finishing their basement. A customer in Eagan, MN was looking to remodel the inside of their garage. Wanting a system that would be water and stain resistant, easy to clean, and durable, they contacted DBS for a free, no-obligation estimate for a garage finishing system.
DBS Design Specialist Jason Swanson is an expert in our Total Basement Finishing™ system. He visited the home, took thorough measurements, and developed a design with the homeowner. The garage had some damaged dry wall and concern with rot on the the wood studs beneath. Taking that into consideration, Jason included a MoldX2 Botanical™ treatment in his proposal.
DBS Carpenter Paul Villella and team installed a BrightWall® Wall Panel System in the garage space. These semi-rigid plastic panels are perfect for application over poured concrete or concrete block walls. Waterproof, stain resistant, and easy to clean, these wall panels outsmart traditional drywall.
The homeowner was happy with the work done and now has a finished space tough enough for garage activities.
Homeowners of this 1902 home in Superior, WI contacted DBS in need of a permanent solution for the cracking foundation walls in their basement. The horizontal cracks as seen in the before photo were causing leaking. The homeowner was tired of the water issues and wanted to protect their belongings.
DBS Design Specialist Nathan Schroeder visited the home for a free, no-obligation estimate for the best course of action. Foreman Nick Burley and his crew installed four GeoLock™ Wall Plates and Earth Anchors to the failing foundation wall. This system uses heavy-duty anchors and connects them to plates on the wall interior wall. Connected with long, galvanized rods, these anchors are tightened to straighten the wall over time and provide maximum support.
To prevent water from flooding onto the basement floor, our team installed an interior waterproofing system. This included our interior drain tile WaterGuard®, connected to a new SingleSafe™ sump pump.
The customer was happy with the work done and now has a permanent solution they can count on for years to come.

DBS Foreman Nick Burley and his crew installed a PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System made up of 4 steel beams. Attached to the ceiling joists and concrete footing, these beams will be tightened over time to restore the wall to its original position.
From there, the DBS waterproofing crew lead by Taylor Allen installed our basement waterproofing products. First, they dug a trench along the perimeter of two basement walls and carried out the concrete. From there, they installed our WaterGuard® drainage system and surrounded it with gravel to encourage proper drainage. Once the drain system install was complete, they connected it to a brand new TripleSafe™ sump pump.
The homeowners now have a solid solution to keep water out of the basement, and they can continue with their basement finishing plans.
